No leads immediately turn up in that case, but he does receive an early morning phone call that draws him to the mangled and mutilated remains of a young boy slain fifty years prior. Tom takes on the case in an attempt to find absolution, and a second tale involves, set fifty years prior - one involving a man named Matthew Wakefield (Josh Lucas) and his son John.

The dangerous life in the Bronx keeps threatening to pull an ambitious young man under in this independent drama. Jay (real-life musician Andrew Cisneros) dreams of using his talent on the guitar to take him out of his crime-filled neighborhood, but his father (Nestor Serrano) thinks he needs to choose a more realistic goal. Then he begins dating Alessandra (Jenna Dewan), a Brooklyn resident who increases his desire to leave the Bronx, even as old friends and family drag him back.
